Anyone with any mental clarity and a basic sense of religious faith can see that there is something desperately wrong with America right now.

The intensity of the storms, wildfires, hurricanes, earthquakes, and other natural disasters proliferating around our country seems to be a metaphor for the cultural and political storms in our national life.

The human problems and conflicts go beyond a simple matter of partisan divide. They cut more deeply, with a rancor and bitterness that we have not seen in America for many generations. We are in the midst of a cultural civil war, and the intractable problems, like a cancer, seem to be metastasizing.

That’s because, at its root, the real problem is spiritual.

It’s not hard to see why this spiritual evil has come upon us. We’ve institutionalized sinful, destructive lifestyles like homosexuality and same sex marriage and are now reaping the fruits of all the evils that come with them.

We’ve affirmed time and again atrocious injustices like abortion, sex trafficking, and pornography without repenting or changing the laws to protect the innocent or the God-given institutions like traditional marriage and the family.

These evils, in turn, have given entrance to a spiritual darkness, a power of evil, that now hovers over our nation like a cloud of nuclear fallout and affects every aspect of our lives.

What can we do?

While political action is essential at a time when so much hangs in the balance politically, the most important thing that we can, and must do, is to increase our prayer.

That may seem like just a pious thought in the face of such an onslaught of political power against our Judeo-Christian values, but it is the essential thing that we cannot forsake. But prayer seems to be the one thing that gets easily swept away amidst the skirmishes that we must fight to survive.

Pray, and increase prayer. For our nation. For President Trump. For our culture. For our families. For conversion.

Why is this important?

Christian prayer is based on the understanding that human beings are unable to change such deeply rooted evils without the divine power of God.

Only God can defeat evil like this. But we must ask Him to do so, and we must give Him our full cooperation.

The prayer that unites us all

The one great prayer that unites all Christian’s is the Lord’s own prayer: the Our Father. Let us pray it every day, standing united, in spiritual solidarity for our nation.

Just One Our Father a day.

Imagine the spiritual power we would unleash if millions of Americans were to pray just one Our Father per day to God, asking the Heavenly Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit to transform America!

Everyone can pray!

And everyone must do something to increase the prayer to God our Almighty Father from the faithful core of this nation so that the power of evil will not overtake America.
