I am not always sure what to make of prophetic interpretations of celestial events, but the upcoming solar eclipse “Nineveh Prophecy” drew my attention because it fits so perfectly our native situation.
In a word: our country desperately needs conversion!
Numerous people have made the connection that the looming solar eclipse overshadowing the continental US and Canada on Monday, April 8th, is a dramatic sign, almost of biblical proportions, if you will. Here is the map of the upcoming event (SW to NE trajectory) overlying the path of the 2017 eclipse.
Notwithstanding the fact that two solar eclipses over the same area are rarely this close in time (only seven years vs an historical average of 32), the trajectory of the 2024 eclipse is supposed to encompass seven cities all named “Nineveh” in seven different states: TX, MO, IN, OH, PA, VA, and NY. (I didn’t even know that there were cities named Nineveh in the US!)
And where have we heard of Nineveh before?
Of course: in the Book of Jonah, where the people of the land actually repented of their great sins at the preaching of the prophet. As a result of their repentance, they were saved from God’s Wrath.
Is this a sign for us? Is God using a solar eclipse to tell us that if we don’t repent—like Nineveh did—then something ominous and unforeseen will happen to us?
We can’t rule that out.
Some have criticized this “prophecy” by saying that all the cities of that name do not actually fall in the pathway of the eclipse, but even if that is the case, in the matter of solar eclipses and hand grenades, I think “close enough” is sufficient!
Any decent person with eyes has long known that our nation needs deep repentance. The culture has been totally corrupted by lawless elements that are everywhere wreaking havoc on human decency and the laws of God. It needs conversion.
Whether out nation wants to hear it or not, let us never stop preaching this message because our nation needs to hear it. And we should combine that message with intense prayer for all the injustices being committed on a massive scale right now.
That is our mission: PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!
