If you don’t have alarm bells ringing in your mind and red flags waving wildly when you evaluate the state of our nation, you probably need to come to terms with a sad truth: America’s days could very well be numbered. There is one thing – and only one thing – that has the capacity to turn the tide of evil overtaking us, and that is prayer. Mark my words: the Americans who pray will save this nation.
As tempting as it is to just condemn everything and go back to our private lives, we don’t have that luxury any more. Every single one of us is now subject to the totalitarian urges of those who collude to control us: the Deep State (leftist government networks), the surveillance state (Big Tech), and the murderous state (Planned Parenthood), among others. These forces currently control the central institutions of our society, and we cannot escape them without becoming survivalists.
In fact, the corruption of the godless has already woven its web deeply into the general culture. We can’t even watch professional sports and college football games now without being subjected to extreme nonsense and in some cases outright abuse.
And while we may be able to escape the controllers for a time, please be aware that they will brook no compromise in the future if they are allowed to hold on to and solidify real political power. Like all dictators, they will quash any resistance and bring the heavy hand of coercive government down on us.
What can we do? Participation in the political process, engagement in social action, and building up one’s own family and community are all necessary ways to fight the totalitarian culture growing around us, but they are not the most necessary thing we can do. Prayer is.
Prayer draws down the mighty power of God on our nation and seeks His blessing. The patriotic song, God Bless America, asks God to “stand beside her and guide her through the night with the light from above.” That’s what we must pray for. It can be seen as a sort of patriotic re-statement of a much greater prayer given to us by Our Lord, Jesus – the Lord’s Prayer – which asks that God’s Will be done in all things.
We, the praying portion of America, must pray it every day.
